How does an editor think and feel?

As editors, you make important decisions of how to present your narrative, characters and overall film. The video above mentions that editing takes a lot of practice! Take time to edit and try to play around with cuts and transitions until you are really happy with how it turns out.

Since all of you have a subscription to Adobe Premiere via your school account, please make sure to use this software for editing your Action & Adventure film individually!

Premiere Pro is the industry-leading video editing software for film, TV and the web. Creative tools, integration with other apps and services help you craft footage into polished films and videos. You can use other Adobe Apps such as After effects or Anime to create special effects etc.

The Adobe Creative Cloud has numerous free tutorial videos that are very compact and useful if you ever feel stuck during the editing process or whenever you would like to try and learn/incorporate something new. Make sure to check it out:

Editing can make our break your film. It can take some time. Make sure you don’t rush it and reflect on it. It often helps to get an opinion of someone else on your raw edit, be it a friend, a parent, or your teacher! If you would like to send me any raw edits for feedback, please don’t hesitate to do so! You can simply upload your edit to your OneDrive (school account) and share the link with me!

Getting Premiere

When it comes to editing we are really lucky to have the school $10 adobe license package. The link to my video I sent out yesterday is here (copy and paste):
For laptops or desktops – Adobe Premiere. Just go to the linked video above or follow the instructions in the attached image to this notification. Once you have made payment for $10 just send an e-mail with the digital receipt to: Daniel.Pitcher@education.wa.edu.au  Once you have loaded the software (you don’t need to load them all, just Premiere to start with) you can go to the tutorials page online on the Adobe site (https://www.adobe.com/au/creativecloud.html).  Familiarise yourself with Adobe by going through the ‘learn and support’ tab, then the ‘tutorials’ tab. Open the Adobe tutorials (screenshotted below). These tutorials are the ones we would have worked through in class this week and next. My advice is to try to do all the ones on the first 5 pages or so.
